by Eric Barker
“Fundamentally, your brain doesn’t like or want to believe in randomness. It always believes you have some control, even when you don’t. It may be delusional but we’re happier deluded. And delusion ironically makes us perform better on average.” Eric Barker
Eric Barker is an interesting dude. Why? It’s because of his fascination and curiosity for learning and teaching others how to create and live an awesome life. He asks questions that relate to success that many of us don’t. He seeks to find insight to the flip side of everything we’ve been told and everything most of us believe about what determines success. (more…)

“Today is a new day. Don’t let your history interfere with your destiny! Let today be the day you stop being a victim of your circumstances and start taking action towards the life you want. You have the power and the time to shape your life. Break free from the poisonous victim mentality and embrace the truth of your greatness. You were not meant for a mundane or mediocre life!” Steve Maraboli
A Victim mentality is an acquired personality trait in which a person tends to recognize themselves as a victim of the negative actions of other people, events or circumstance and to behave as if this were the case.
In this episode, I discuss victim mentality, what it means, why it exists and how to overcome it.

“If something is not a “hell, YEAH!”, then it’s a “no!”
The power of no is really a practice of effective resource utilisation. It is said the successful are very proficient at saying no. It is not only a matter of saying no to external demands to limit such strains on our resources but also a practice of saying no to the internal demands and requests. The inner voice that guides us despite our deeper wishes.
In this episode I wish to discuss my thoughts on the power of no. How it can help us better utilise our resources such as time, energy, money and thought to improve our effectiveness. And how it can also assist us on the journey towards Self-Mastery.
My book review of James Altucher’s book The Power of No: Because One Little Word Can Bring Health, Abundance and Happiness – here.
