  • Not everyone wants to be rich, I understand that however many people I know would love to have money to allow them the freedom to have all those experiences they truly desire.

When you think of the success what immediately comes to mind? Who do you think of and what does this word success mean to you?

Well for many years I thought success was just that, being a multi-millionaire. Over the years as I have matured, well as I have aged not sure if I will ever mature, money has becomes less associated with success.

I still believe that money is important and many people will argue with me about this topic saying there are more important things in life. Yes there are!

One of my mentors often says if you want to be rich than you need to stop listening to broke, unhappy people. Sounds harsh?

We know that we become those that we are surrounded by and the environment we exist in. If you surround yourself by others who are poor, broke and unhappy you are likely to live in that realm also.

Surround yourself by those that are successful, the rich and the environments you wish to exist and you may be surprised in the shift. From all the people that I consider hold success this is what they say to do.

Believe me when I say this I don’t think success means being rich. Success to me means achieving all that you want to achieve in your life. Success to me is living your life to its fullest and reaching you ultimate goals. Doing what it is you were put here to do. Your inner calling!

The people tell me that money isn’t important I often notice that they often struggle with money, paying bills, getting the things that they need and even want. They seem less fulfilled and less happy in their situation.

Mind you this seems more common in the first world societies than the third world societies where money doesn’t rule. Perhaps a conversation for another day!

What I know is that family and health are more important to me than money yet I also know money can get me a lot of very cool things, not that I am all that into collecting stuff but who doesn’t like a few nice things. What I enjoy more so are the experiences you can have with money, they can be amazing.

Yes you can do a lot of great things without money, like climb a mountain, go fishing, go for a run or swim in a creek but wouldn’t it be great to climb Mt Kilimanjaro, or swim in a creek in a stream of Vietnam? Those experiences require money do they not?

So money is not the be all and end all but having money is pretty cool.

What would you do if you had a million dollars?

They problem most of us face is that we have limiting beliefs. We make up reasons why money is not important usually as an excuse or a way to procrastinate about getting things done, starting something new or actually just living true to ourselves.

We are brought up in hard environments, in environments in which the rich are seen as evil. We begin to believe this ourselves. We view the rich as being lucky yet we often don’t look at the years of hard work they have put in.

I am sure there are rich evil people out there that have been lucky but equally I am sure there are poor, evil unhappy people out there that have stuck lucky and found riches most likely only to return to the same place they began due to the environment they continue to exist in.

If you want nice things, if you want to have great experiences you can make it happen but you must change your perspective on what it means to be rich.

Most importantly you need to have a deeper why and deeper reason why you must go out there and make it happen. I believe one of the top most searched topics on Google is about money.

Most of us want riches and want more money but what does it truly mean to you. What is going to make you get out of bed earlier and stay up later to get things done? What is going to keep you going when things get tough?

You must have a bigger calling otherwise you will give up. You will start to tell yourself that rich are evil and who needs money anyway.

Mine is freedom. Freedom to follow my passions, freedom to have great experiences, freedom to work when I want to but most importantly freedom to allow my family to have a life without struggle and a life full of adventure.

Find your deeper why and anything is possible. Do what it is that drive you and what it is you are truly passionate about and the value that you provide will be enormous. When you provide great value money just flows.
