  • I keep searching for freedom; I think I am lucky though as for most of my life I have had a pretty high level of it.

Its addictive and I want more!

Being grateful for what you have rather than being upset or angry at what you don’t have is a sure way to get more of the same. I am grateful for the freedom I have but as I get more I must better understand the discipline that is required to manage freedom.

What is freedom? Well in the magical dictionary it is the power to act, speak and think as one wants. Pretty cool.

Most of us already have a great amount of freedom in our lives and least those of us that live in first worlds however there are many freedoms that are still desirable by many of us and we are all in search.

We want to be able to take a day off when we choose, to travel where and when we like, to go surfing as regularly as we like, to eat the foods we enjoy, to speak our mind and be listened to, to be able to be ourselves and think and act in congruency with our own beliefs and values.

These luxuries are rare in today’s society as most of us are educated to act in a certain way, most of us are bought up in certain environments with attached expectations and most of us work in jobs!

I need no boundaries in my life. Freedom of thought, ability to act and speak, as I desire is high on my list. I am creating this for myself.

    Everyone can!!!

But when you start nibbling away at the freedom chains and get further and further away from what has been restricting you and holding you back there is certainly a temptation to relax, loose control and reverse your freedoms.

What do I mean? Well without boundaries and without routines many of us struggle to remain focused and in control of the things we still need to be doing.

Without discipline we may just loose all our freedom and have to go back to square one.

I think the best way you can stay on track on not become complacent in the world of freedom is by controlling you emotions and attitudes towards what it is you do.

Living your life to its fullest and with passion is the easiest way to keep your freedoms alive.

I truly believe that if you can find things you enjoy doing whether you get paid for it or not you will always appreciate the thought of a new day. And in this way you will enjoy the continuance of the daily activities required to keep up your freedoms alive.

Even when you don’t really enjoy something, those things that you know you need to do but are certainly not the most fascinating, make fun of them.

Put your full energy and attitude into even those mundane activities and find a way to make them fun and enjoyable. Make a game out of it. With this approach when you do need to do them they wont seem to be such a chore.

The discipline required when you enjoy what you do and when you have fun doing what you do, will be less than the opposite.

In this way when you reach the level of freedom you require you are less likely to become complacent and let things slip. You can continue to enjoy the freedom you’ve created.

So I say get free but don’t destroy it all by becoming too relaxed, and the easiest way I know to do this is make sure you enjoy everything you do.

    Life can be easy.
