The Art of Charm Podcast
Written by Leigh Martinuzzi
From 2007, this long-running podcast, hosted by Jonny and AJ, founders and coaches behind The Art of Charm company, has been motivating and teaching an audience of hi-performance seekers and those wishing to learn the tools of the trade behind self-mastery. Jordan Harbinger, former founder and voice behind the show, recently departed the crew due to apparent creative differences. But the show must go on.
Although I am not their biggest fan, I have enjoyed past interviews and conversations with entrepreneurs, celebrities, and guest experts in the fields of science, phycology and spirituality. Jordan is what I’d consider a straight shooter with his interviewing style, often avoiding fluff in favour of solid practical advice and evidence. He delves in deep with his guests to help crack the code to human behaviour, so we can better understand why we do what we do.
AJ Harbinger and Jonny Dzubak run popular personal-development boot camps that they heavily advertise using their podcast platform. No harm in that! I believe Jordan was also involved as he seemed somewhat knowledgeable on human dynamics and the science behind personal development. I feel the retreats are designed to help make men, well, better men. Guiding them on the principles of relationships, communication, confidence and anything to enhance their success in life.
While most of the past episodes I listened to were selectively picked interviews with cool guests, I began to really enjoy their AOC toolbox sessions. In these episodes Jonny and AJ delve into topics, assumingly taken from the AOC training modules, to help deliver insight and practical “tools” that we can incorporate into our everyday lives. Everyday tips for everyday people. A little less motivational but nonetheless some good quick coaching sessions.
Not sure where the show is heading from here, but there is currently no interviewing being recorded as far as I can tell. And besides that, I have to be in the mood before I press play. Jordan has his own podcast – The Jordan Harbinger Show that I’ve yet to listen but may be worth a peak. They’ve had a good reputation from bringing on spectacular guest – I hope it can live on for them.
Take a listen and let me know your thoughts. Is there value in the information they share or is it just more information on personal development in an already crowded space?
Enjoy!
