Success Is for You: Using Heart-Centered Power Principles for Lasting Abundance and Fulfillment

“Always be yourself, express yourself, have faith in yourself, do not go out and look for a successful personality and duplicate it.” Bruce Lee

This is a read that I really didn’t expect. It is a different take and approach on success from what you may expect and certainly worth a read.

Dr. David R. Hawkins is a renowned physician, lecturer and researcher of consciousness, which is the state of being aware and responsive to one’s surroundings. If we can only be more aware of ourselves internally and how we respond to external happenings may then we attain more success.

Dr. Hawkins concepts seem very much common sense, including business and psychological behaviours that help propel success, however along the journey to success we loose touch with them. The idea is to gain consciousness and become aware that will then assist us in discovering true success.

Dr. Hawkins concepts seem very much common sense, including business and psychological behaviours that help propel success, however along the journey to success we loose touch with them. The idea is to gain consciousness and become aware that will then assist us in discovering true success.

He highlights and illustrates a powerful message and that is that success is already within us. Success is already within us. Just think on that for a moment and imagine that is actually the case. The thought alone can change your mindset and attitudes that will certainly have effect to enhance your ability to have the success you desire in life.

Dr. Hawkins addresses this with some clarity to help you understand why it is already within us – I will not attempt to explain here. It is in pursuit of success that often holds this already innately existing success from rising. We become bound by attitudes that don’t harness success but limit them.

He addresses the concept of Power vs. Force, his previous and very success book. I like to think that the more we try and force things to happen, to eventuate, to be as we must have them be, the less likely they are from occurring. He states that power is in charisma, power is being a certain way.

In chase for the top we forget who we are truly serving and become so blindly focused on what we want that our surroundings and environments seem almost not to exist. The more I read and talk to other successful people the more I realise that in life if we can only aim to offer value in this world first then may we discover greater success. Not the other way around.

In connection to Dr. Hawkins concepts, if  we can just let go of the chase, become more aware of the value that already exists within us and then begin to offer this value, while being responsive to feedback, we can immediately live with this success that already exists. It’s really an attitude shift. With that in place we will live with more meaning and happiness. He talks about the idea of good-will leading to profit.

Dr. Hawkins uses many business examples and historical examples to explain and develop his concepts. He is also clearly, very passionate about service. He shares his emotions around poor service and responsiveness to customers needs when it comes to restaurants and other client oriented businesses, and what business isn’t? I really enjoyed his strong opinions on these.

Awaken yourself to yourself by becoming more present and aware. Start expressing your authenticity to the world. Allow the success that already exists within to shine. Give up the chase for success and start living with the success you already have. Begin to share this value with those you can reach and watch what happens. If attitude is a settled way of thinking then its also a settled way of behaving, and the way we behave tends to mould our reality. Great book – have a read.
