  • Summary

“It’s my hero’s journey and it just goes to prove that we can be called to do almost anything in this life.”

Kim “Skipper” Corbin created the iSkip movement back in 1999 Kim found herself being, encouraged by a friend, skipping down a street.  Having felt a great sense of energy, happiness & fun from this and knowing that it must be fantastic for fitness, she was inspired to take it one skip further. Her vision was to start a world wide skipping movement and so it begins.

In this interview we discuss why it’s important to pay attention to the signals and messages in life and how this, in a spiritual sense, is our connection to the universe. Asking questions and holding an open and curious mind that allows you to grow, learn and take hold of opportunities that comes about is also important.

We talk about why following your passion can bring more joy to your life’s journey, how to overcome resistance and how to deal with challenges that you might face along the way.Parts of life’s joy are the challenges we face and diversity that we meet along the way. She now still actively participates in the world of skipping while also bringing the world – consciousness shifting books in her role with the New World Library.

I really hope you enjoy this episode and encourage you to leave your comments, questions and thoughts below. Until next time peace, passion and purpose.

    Key Take Outs

    • Passion brings life. When you find and follow your passion you will notice change and transformation in your life. Participating actively in your passion raises your levels of self-appreciation, happiness and purpose that will ultimately improve other areas of your life. Your passion need not be an income- it alone will open many amazing opportunities in life.
    • Creative vision sparks life. When you have moments that bring about vision and go about follow the creativity it sparks allow them to grow. Trust in your intuitive centres, mind, heart and gut, and let this guide you to take further action. This action will bring higher levels of connection to life.
    • Having a beginners mind. Don’t wait for things to happen but rather try adopting a beginners mind. What does this mean? Simply, when you have an idea or vision and hold off taking action, do something towards starting it or getting it off the ground and see how it feels, this will highlight what to do next.
    • Holding on to curiosity. The curious mind brings with it great learning’s and understanding in life. This we tend to leave behind in adult life yet is one particular reason why children are such fast learning’s and so open to new experiences. Bring it back!
    • Being open to opportunities. Try things for 21 days and see how it plays out. There is never anything to loose from tyring things but there is plenty you may miss out on if you never try.
    • Synchronicity. Paying attention to the signals and messages that present themselves in your life and then ask how you can take action towards them.
    • Asking how you can serve. When you get a sense you could be doing something more., with a certain passion or feeling, ask questions. How could this be used to help and serve others? Those that ask will receive the answers, those that don’t may never.
    • Facing resistance. You need to be aware of the resistance you face and create an understanding of it. On whatever path life takes you resistance will present itself. Peace in life comes from knowing how to defuse resistance and not showing any resistance your-self at all.
    • Say ‘yes’ to what life’s brings you. Stop saying no to opportunities and experiences that present themselves and start saying yes. A “yes” will lead you to further places in life even if the yes turns out to be a no. An immediate no will stop things progressing all together. This is yes to opportunities and experiences no others demands on your time.

What advice would you give to your 20-year-old self?

Start loving, trusting and looking within yourself early.

    Kim’s interpretation of success

When you get in bed at night and you feel as though you have done your best for the day and tuned into what is important. With the intention to use your life as a force for good and being able to create positive change and to find ways to bring more love and light into this world.
