The Power of the 5 W’s

These 5 questions are the building blocks of your plan. As they say if you fail to plan, you plan to fail. Asking powerful questions are fundamental in building your plan and they are the who, what, when, where, why & how.

Importantly here you must connect on a deep emotional level as to why you wish to take action towards or away from those habits you wish to tackle. What is your reason, what is your purpose?

    Motivate & Manage

Motivation can be short lasting and if not constant you may just find yourself falling of the tracks. Motivation is that fire you need to get you started.

This may be something your require to get you started out with the new habit from the beginning or it may be something you use to kick start you to take action daily.

Motivation will get you pumped, energises and excited so that you can take that first step, once you do that it will be hard to stop.

    Cultivate Discipline

Discipline is when you do what has to be done whether you want to or not. Your reason why and the motivation will be great way to help you stay disciplined and on purpose but there are other techniques I discuss in this episode also.

Certainly once you cultivate your discipline you will find taking action toward this new habit easier and easier. Practice make perfect and constant disciplined behaviour creates strong habits.

    Consistency & Persistence

Without these two disciplines you will struggle to succeed with the new habits your are trying to change. The successful are masters at both being consistent and also being persistent.

Consistency builds strong habits, we you are inconsistent you are less disciplined and without discipline you are more likely to let yourself of the hook in times of adversity.

Persistence means remain faithful to the cause. Know that what your doing will bring you greater rewards but perhaps not instantly. The reason why many of us fail with these new habits is because we cannot see instant goals & rewards. The rewards will come.

    Feel & Reflect

With all those previous steps you will be well on the path to succeeding in the habits you with to create or break. At this point its time to feel and reflect on how the process is proceeding and what may be improved and maybe what may be discarded.

You will know if what you do are going to be conducive in creating that life that you desire. Without strong habits we will struggle to reach that future vision of what our life looks like.

Work on this process and please let me know what you think. Leave your comments, thoughts and any questions you may have below.

    Peace, passion & purpose.
