Evan has a passion is to help people to get to the root cause of their health symptoms in order to live a true life of health and happiness. In this episode we discuss his journey and how he came to find this passion that has lead him to where he is today, at the young age of 24, and helping thousands of people improve their health.

When we talk about health for many of us we think about exercise as the solution yet the most critical area of really improving health starts with diet. In todays society we rely so heavily on medication to deal with our health issues and often over look the better approach of prevention.

In this chat we discuss the ‘why’ behind health and why as a society we seem to be so disillusioned as to what true health actually means. We also discuss why people have trouble dealing with their inner health issues, why fad diets are not a solution and the ‘how to’ guide to start making major improvements in your life.

This is a really diverse conversation around health and all its intricacies and is very much a surface level conversation. In saying that it is a great place to start if you yourself are looking to take your health to the next level in order to be happier and become better at doing what you want to do.

Enjoy it! Peace, passion and purpose.

    Key Take Outs

    ·      Adopt a good diet. What we fuel our body is fundamental in how we feel, how we operate and how successful we become. When you have a solid diet that is sustainable life becomes easy and the best starting point is to become a questioner of everything you put in your mouth. From there you can fine tune and get really niche into health but the first step first is to just practice eating the right foods.

    ·      Effective exercise. We so often believe that if we exercise more we can eat more and also eat more rubbish. The truth is that with exercise- less is more. Try focus on the right exercise to get the maximum benefits and in my knowledge hi-intense exercise seems to be the most affective.

    ·      Paleolithic approach. Be open. I am not prone to one diet or another and actually I struggle to use the word diet because I think what we feed ourselves needs to be more of a lifestyle. I am open and I urge you to be also as you experiment with what works best for you and also what is actually known to be best for out bodies. Test, experiment and understand and then decide your food lifestyle.

    ·      Drinking and drugs. I cannot speak to strongly for drugs but for alcohol and its effects on your body, health and happiness I am an expert. It is not good! Limit your consumption of  booze and you will certainly notice the effects on all aspects of life improve.

    ·      Choose wholefoods or raw. The simple approach to health whether you choose to eat meat or not is to eat foods that are minimally processed, and don’t travel far to get to your plate. If it has more than 3 or 4 ingredients its most likely not great. Carbs like rice and potatoes are also ok but perhaps you just need to consume them at the right time of the day.

    ·      Supplements and vitamin D. Supplements are good but need to be chosen carefully. Don’t rely on cheap bulk supplements as often they are just as good as throwing money down the drain. The supplements you require will be very much unique to you so its best to consult with your nutritionist on this to see what you require. Evans top three, which by coincidence are the three I use are Vitamin D, Magnesium and a good quality fish oil.

    ·      Go with your gut feeling. So often we do things simply because that is what is expected or the norm however perhaps we needs to go with our gut instead. If you have that feeling that something isn’t quite right than don’t do it. Likewise if you have a very positive feeling about something most likely it’s a good choice.

What advice would you give to your 20-year-old self?

Don’t go to college just because, go with your gut feeling to what you should and shouldn’t do.
